Pink and White Quilt

This two color quilt measures approximately 78" x 89"   It is made up of 42, 11" pieced blocks surrounded by a 4" white border and a 2" pink and white pieced border.

The 9 patch blocks are made up of smaller 4 patch and half square triangles.

The interesting quilt pattern is achieved by block placement.  I don't know the exact name of the pattern but believe it is an Irish Chain variation.   If you know the pattern name,  please send me a note.

The quilt is made of soft cotton fabric.

The batting is a light cotton batting.

The quilting stitches are very nice, even stitches with about 10 stitches per inch.   Each piece is outlined with quilting 1/4" from the seam.  An ellipse and diamond pattern is quilted into the white border.

The quilt top was made in the mid 1960s by Dorothea Rust and quilted in the early 1970s by St. Paul - Borchers ladies.
